The Island & Beach Escape package includes:-
- 3 nights in an Island Suite at Green Island Resort
- Full buffet breakfast daily
- Return ferry transfers from Cairns
- Great Barrier Reef Outer Reef cruise
- Many island activities
- 4 nights at Kewarra Beach Resort
- (Package is based on 2 persons sharing)
Day One: Travel to Green Island
Check in at the Reef Fleet Terminal Green Island Resort check in counter at least 30 minutes prior to your ferry departure. The fast comfortable ferry takes only 45 minutes to get there and departs daily from the Marlin Marina which is a 15 minute maximum drive from the Cairns Airport at 8.30am, 10.30am, 1.00pm. You are welcome to leave your luggage at the check in counter if you arrive early.
Your luggage will be transferred directly to your resort room. After check in you are more than welcome to explore the island and take part in the numerous activities.
With just 46 luxurious suites, you will discover an intimate haven. Suites are set in clusters under the rainforest canopy and adjoining central facilities via raised covered walkways. They are cleverly secluded from the remainder of the island and day visitor facilities.
The package includes a stay in an Island Suite.
Island Suites: The Island Suites consist of a spacious guestroom with either Twin ( Double/Double) or King rooms, some interconnecting. All rooms have separate showers and bath and a private balcony. These rooms look over the pool and island natural gardens.
Reef Suites: Reef Suites are more private split-level luxury suites with a King bed, spacious lounge area, separate bath, shower and private balcony. We highly recommend these suites.
At 5pm after the day visitors have left enjoy sunset drinks at the jetty with a choice of sparkling wine or orange juice. Fish feeding takes place from the jetty where you will see many tropical fish and a turtle or two if you're lucky! You will also have access to the Underwater Observatory and the option of taking a guided beach walk or stargazing.
Also included in your stay are :
Day Two: Outer Barrier Reef Cruise
Board Great Adventures at 11:15am to your outer reef destination at Norman or Moore Reef. Travel time is approx 60 minutes where you will transfer onto a first class multi-level pontoon from where all the reef activities take place.
There are many activities available for people of all ages and excellent underwater dive options that are perfect for non-swimmers!
The diversity of the Marine life out here is amazing. We saw a huge number of beautiful small and very large tropical fish including a huge Maori Wrasse "Wally" who kept coming right up to us to say hello. It is the closest I have come to swimming in an aquarium. The Coral Gardens are very pretty and extensive.
As a dive site there were fabulous swim throughs and caves and a fantastic range of sea life.
If you want to learn more about the reef there is a Guided Snorkel tour that is very informative.
Inclusions:
- Air-conditioned fast catamaran
- 3 Hours at Outer Barrier Reef platform

Your stay on Green Island includes a glass bottom boat tour, snorkelling equipment and access to sea kayaks and windsurfers or you can simply relax with a cold drink on your own personal sun lounge with Parasol.
Also included in your stay is the Underwater Observatory: Located on the Green Island Jetty, this was the first Underwater Observatory in the world. It was converted from an old diving chamber used during World War 1 in 1954.
Dining: During the day guests can choose from a range of delicious and affordable meal and snack options from Green Island’s restaurant and food outlets (at own cost).Canopy Grill: Café style lunch such as burgers and chips or wraps. (Lunch)
Aussie Buffet: This delicious hot and cold buffet is served from the Canopy Grill. (Lunch)
Emeralds Restaurant: A la carte dining or set course menus. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner)
Lite Bites: Ice-creams, shakes and snack food. (Day)
Reflections Pool Bar: Refreshing drinks, specialty cocktails, coffees. Reflections Pool Bar and Emeralds Restaurant are fully licensed. (Day)
Optional activities (at own cost) include:
Diving and Snorkelling: Great Diving Adventures offers scuba diving for both introductory and certified divers at Green Island. No experience is necessary to take a fully supervised introductory dive. Guided snorkel tours are also conducted and are highly recommended. They are a great way to maximise your experience on the Great Barrier Reef.
Marineland Melanesia: This amazing nautical museum offers visitors ocean aquariums, marine artefacts and an impressive collection of ancestral images from Asia and the Indo-Pacific. It is also home to Cassius and other huge crocodiles.
Seawalker: From start to finish, the Seawalker experience takes between 45 and 55 minutes. It is a fully guided underwater experience where your face stays dry and you walk underwater on the sea floor (not on an artificial platform) surrounded by fish and marine life at the beautiful coral garden
Club Spa: Green Island Resort’s Club Spa Massage and Beauty facility offers rejuvenating and indulging treatments that restore harmony to the mind, body and soul. Using exclusive marine products, you can be pampered with a variety of spa, massage and beauty treatments.

Our kitchen brigade prides itself in creating innovative menus that reflect the diverse range of unique flavours we are renowned for.
The Beach Shack provides the perfect beach location for a morning coffee, light lunch or sunset cocktails.
Home to a large variety of wildlife, due to the wide range of habitats around the grounds you can expect to see Agile wallabies, bandicoots and several reptiles - non-venomous green tree snakes, large lizards, called Lace Monitors, geckos and skinks in the gardens. Green tree frogs are common in the wetter months and the lagoon has a large variety of fish and crabs.
Kewarra Beach Resort also boasts a large variety of palms planted around the grounds. To date, approximately 60 native palm species have been recorded in Australia and found mostly in the Tropical North and the top end. Kewarra's gardens are carefully maintained with lush tropical plants that attract a wide range of bird life to the property. The gardens flow right onto Kewarra's beach. The natural lagoon hosts many local water birds.
The individual guest bungalows are set beside the lagoon, scattered in landscaped gardens, and nestled amongst the beachfront melaleuca trees. Relax on the verandah in the evening with a drink or just enjoy the peace in the air conditioned comfort of your bungalow.
Deluxe Pandanus Bungalow: The bungalows are spacious and tastefully appointed with modern furniture and art. The bathrooms are spacious with bath and shower and a range of complimentary environmentally-friendly toiletries and hairdryers.
